BOOKS and INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL EDA ESEMPI DI ARCHITETTURA

EdA Esempi di Architettura is a publishing project born in 2004 with the aim of promoting knowledge and disseminating the results of research activities carried out in the academic field. The main objective is the adoption of neutrality in the choice and evaluation of these researches and the scientific rigour in their drafting. The choice of the publication involves first the director of the editorial project, the board members and therefore scientific Committee both national and international according to their respective scientific skills and the external auditors chosen at both national and international academies.

EdA Esempi di Architettura is a multidisciplinary and multilingual project so you can also present publications in other languages in addition to Italian and English. In collaboration with Aracne Editrice, it undertakes to enforce the rules of ethical behaviour at all stages of the publishing process.

EdA Esempi di Architettura through its internal organs promotes and monitors Peer review operations as a method of selecting articles, providing a mandatory form for reporting. EdA promotes the independence of research activities, condemns copyright infringement and plagiarism, requires and publishes only original contributions and written in compliance with editorial guideline. These guidelines apply to both printed and Open Access publications.

The following points describe a summary of the commitments required to the Director, board members, Reviewers and to the authors of the EdA publications.

PERIODICITY

EdA Esempi di Architettura, in paper format, is a semi-annual scientific journal with two monographic issues that are published in June and December each year. To publish in this magazine is essential to participate in the International Call published in home page EdA.

EdA on.line is an Open Access magazine and it is always possible to submit research projects and articles. The authors can always send proposals and contributions that will be assessed according to the procedures of the international journal.

SCIENTIFIC DIRECTOR AND EDITORIAL BOARD

The scientific Director coordinated the editorial board of the necklaces and the international magazine in compliance with the COPE guidelines [http://publicationethics.org]

The scientific director and all the members of the Board of drafting of necklaces and magazine are the main responsible for the final decision on the publication of articles that are submitted to the magazine exclusively through the institutional address publicationseda@gmail.com the Director, together with the editorial board, also monitors defamation, copyright infringement and plagiarism processes, and for this finality the Director makes use of the contribution and support of external auditors and researchers of recognized academic value in order to take their own decisions, according to a double-blind peer review procedure.

All the editorial board collaborates in the evaluation and proposal of unpublished manuscripts, of acknowledged scientific content and without any distinction of race, sex, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, citizenship, ethnic origin, linguistics and Scientific-academic or political orientation of the individual authors interested in proposing their projects to be published.

All documents received in the editorial office are suitably archived and no unpublished material contained in the manuscripts submitted to the magazine or necklaces can be used by the members of the editorial board for their own research without the written consent of the author. The editorial board is obliged not to disclose any information on the texts and manuscripts received unless it is the potential auditors, editorial consultants and external members identified in concert with the director.

PEER REVIEW PROCESS

In this format the revierwers are invited to express general opinions and specific comments on the value of the works analysed and in compliance with the editorial rules. The selected auditor who does not feel qualified to review the assigned text, or who knows that he is unable to perform the revision in the requested time, must communicate his decision to the editor, renounced to participate in the revision process. All texts received for review are absolutely confidential. They should not be shown or discussed with other members not authorized by EdA’s editorial staff.

The reviewers can not be members of the scientific Committee but only external identified for their specific scientific and academic skills. The auditors receive directly from the editorial staff the documents to be assessed together with a form always available on the EdA Esempi di Architettura

The revision must be objective and neutral. There are no comments and judgements that can invalidate the author’s morals and ethics. The referee must express their views clearly and with the support of objective and documented arguments. Any statement, observation or argument given by referee must be duly certified by objective data.

The referee is invited to draw the immediate attention of the Director and the editorial board if they have a substantial similarity or overlap between the text in question and other already published documents of which he is aware. The information and evaluations of the auditors, anonymously, are communicated to the authors who will have to treasure the indications received to improve their contribution to be published. The auditor’s judgment is unquestionable as well as the final decisions of the editor of the magazine and the editorial necklaces. The work of the auditor is done absolutely free and therefore it is not possible to make requests for economic contributions.

REFEREES

THE AUTHORS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND PUBLICATIONS ETHICS

The authors who submit a project to the drafting of EdA Esempi di Architettura must ensure that their proposals for seeking are unpublished, original and that we have not made use of other works of authors not involved in their proposal. All the authors always have the obligation to cite all the sources analysed and the possible collaboration with other authors.

The authors of texts and manuscripts, the result of original research, must present an accurate account of the work done, as well as an objective discussion of the result pursued. Fraudulent or intentionally inaccurate statements are unethical behaviour and are unacceptable and therefore the Direction will unquestionably reject the publication of the proposed. The proposed manuscripts must not have been published as copyrighted material in other journals or books.

Manuscripts that are being revised by the magazine should not be submitted to other journals for publication purposes. All the texts sent must respect the editorial norms of the project EdA Esempi di Architettura, both for the magazine and for the books.

The literary authorship of the work is strictly limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the creation, design and implementation of research. All those who have made a significant contribution must be listed as co-authors. If there are other parties who have participated, they must be recognised and listed as contributors in the acknowledgements.

The author of reference must ensure that all the relevant co-authors are included in the manuscript, that they have seen and approved the final version thereof and that they agree on the presentation for publication. If an author has any significant errors or inaccuracies in the published manuscript, he has the duty to communicate it promptly to the editorial board of the magazine or to the Publisher and cooperate with them in order to retract or correct the manuscript. In this regard each author will always receive his/her contribution to be revised to which will follow the signature of the authorization form, always available on the website of EdA in the Policy page.

In the case of the use of archival documents for which authorization and payment of rights to the publication are required, such commitments will be paid exclusively by the author because the project EdA Esempi di Architettura cannot guarantee Payments for use of documentation that requires this type of procedure. Therefore all authors must guarantee EdA Esempi di Architettura total freedom from any responsibility that may fall where authorisations requiring use of money are required to publish archival documents, photographs, graphs, etc… and then royalties payments.

EdA on.line is an Open Access magazine, member DOAJ.
